Blitz to Manage Growth of U.S. Market, Global Expansion
Palo Alto, CA – February 22nd, 2016 – AlertSec, the cloud-based encryption company, announced today the promotion of Ebba Blitz to the position of corporate CEO. Blitz will drive AlertSec’s continued growth in the U.S. while also expanding operations globally. She retains responsibility for U.S. operations.
“The appointment of Ebba, AlertSec’s president of U.S. operations, to the position of company CEO illustrates the importance of the U.S. market to AlertSec’s global expansion,” said Fredrik Loevstedt, AlertSec founder and Board of Directors Chairman. “The U.S. leads the world in terms of data privacy legislation. In addition, the growth of cloud services also increases the need for laptop encryption—further fueling AlertSec’s growth. A proven executive like Ebba is just what AlertSec needs during this time of unprecedented opportunity.”
More than 70 percent of AlertSec’s customers are in the U.S., largely because of a regulatory environment requiring protection of third-party information.
“There is a growing need for encryption. The potential that exists for AlertSec as a result makes the company’s future truly exciting,” Blitz said. Specializing in laptop encryption specifically, Blitz added that SMB security will remain a focus. “We are here to help SMBs get the same level of security as Fortune 500 companies, providing the support and expertise they often lack internally.” Healthcare and financial services are primary markets.
Blitz has a background as a television journalist, covering the vibrant Swedish tech scene. She was also the host of the Swedish version of “Shark Tank.”
AlertSec’s cloud-based information security service provides an easy and convenient way to protect information on an organization’s laptops. No server, IT knowledge or training is needed, as everything is included in the AlertSec subscription. AlertSec also provides HIPAA, PCI and SOX requirements compliance support. The implemented encryption has the highest security certifications—FIPS and Common Criteria.
